This week has seen our annual PTA Book Fair taking place in the school library. This year the extra special event was made even more special with US author Jon Agee joining in the fun. All of our children spent time listening to Jon’s stories or joining in with some of his workshops. We are very grateful to our fabulous PTA Book Committee for organising another spectacular Book Fair. The opportunity for our children to have the chance to buy such high quality books in English is absolutely fantastic. The Book Fair may last a week, but it involves a great deal of planning and organisation over the year. Many thanks also to our school librarian, Emma Crofts for organising the visit of Jon Agee to the library, and to our core Curriculum Coordinator, Katrina Millward, for her work coordinating the visit. We are very grateful to our British PTA for their generosity in funding Jon’s visit. The Book Fair and the visit really raise the profile of reading and create all kinds of learning opportunities centred around reading. The week finished with children, and staff, dressing up as weird and wonderful book characters!
